Morning Assembly
The school has also set up an Eco-Club in order to make the students aware of different aspects of our environment and ecology. The fundamental purpose of the Eco-Club is to conserve the local environment while raising awareness in the community and promote ecological education. The Eco-Club routinely arranges field trips to help the students learn about the local culture and also make them aware of the environment. The main objective of this club is to make the students aware of the gradually degrading condition of the environment. The club also organizes regular plantation programs in the town.
YOGA & PRANAYAM
A 5 minute Pranayam session heralds the school day, followed by an atmosphere vibrating with Omkar and 10 minutes of deep meditating silence session for students of classes I and up. This enhances concentration & grasping power. Yoga and Pranayam are an integral part of the Morning Assembly.
THE PRAYERS
After Yoga and Pranayam session students sing devotional and patriotic songs in chorus. The main objective of prayers is to purify and absolve the students’ mind and raise patriotic feelings in the heart of the students. The instrumental music of these songs are also played by the students.
THE THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
The Thought for the Day is another important activity of the morning assembly. Here little kid quotes an inspirational remark or proverb of great writers with an objective to communicate courageous message to the students.
THE NEWS HEADLINES
The Thought for the Day is closely followed by News Headlines. A student takes venture to go on the stage and read the headlines of breaking news of the previous day so that all the students become aware of the happenings in the country and the world as well.
THE ACTION WORD OF THE WEEK
The students are given an action word every week, which is either morally boosting, inspirational, thought provoking or disciplining. During prayer time students and teachers discuss relevant stories or their experiences of application of that quality in their daily activities.
THE G. K. QUESTIONS
Asking G.K. questions to the students is the most distinct phenomenon of the Morning Assembly. The entire set of questions is divided into three sections. First set is for the students of classes I to IV; second set is for classes V to VIII and third set is for classes IX and above. Each set consists of four questions. The questions are prepared according to the level of the students.
THE TEACHER’S TALK
The Teachers also deliver a small talk on a particular topic in the Morning Assembly. Some times they share their experience with the students or narrate a story to teach them moral values and elevate their inner souls.
THE BIRTH DAY CELEBRATION
Sesomites celebrate birthday in a unique way. Instead of wasting money in distributing chocolates, they contribute to a birthday fund. Once in a year the fund is utilized for distributing educational aids and sports equipments to the needy schools of the town.
